It is commonly performed in conjunction with facelift surgery. Gravity, excessive weight gain, genetic factors, and excessive skin laxity are the main reasons. It is usually performed under general anesthesia and takes about 2 hours. It should be noted that there will be incision scars, either in front of or behind the ears.
