Brow Lift Procedures

It is no longer common to surgically lift the eyebrows by making an incision, except during upper eyelid surgery. Instead, I perform this procedure using the endoscopic brow lift method through the scalp, which allows for a same-day procedure with rapid recovery and excellent aesthetic results. Another method is eyebrow lifting with thread lift procedures, details of which I have mentioned in the non-surgical procedures section. This method has become quite popular in recent years, and its frequency of application is increasing. However, it should not be forgotten that the eyebrows may droop slightly over time.

What are the steps of a brow lift?

Step 1: Anesthesia

For you to stay comfortable during your operation, we will give you anesthesia. For your condition your surgeon may prefer intravenous sedation or general anesthesia.

Step 2: Incision

Endoscopic insicion:

A brow lift operation can be possible in multiple ways. Some surgeons may prefer using an endoscope (a slim tube with a camera) and other devices that are used by making small cuts on the hairline. This repairs the core of the visible fine lines and dents by regulating the tissue and muscles.

Coronal incision:

Some surgeons may do the the brow lift operation using a “coronal incision”. A coronal incision is made from ear to ear. Then the skin of the forehead will be lifted and by direct confrontation the muscles can be shaped and manipulated. The scar is hidden deep into the scalp.

Step 3: Patching of the incision

Generally a typical brow lift is closed using these:

-Removable or absorbable stitches

-Skin glue

-Special clips.

Step 4: Results

The results will occur in a couple of weeks and after the bruising and swelling is gone, a more flawless and smooth look will appear.

What should I expect when the brow lift is healing?

You’ll be shown instructions to assure that your brow lift heals approperiately. The instructions may include:

-Aftercare

-Medications

-Consultation of your general health and surgery

-The date you should contact your surgeon

-The physical activities you should not do prior to surgery

-What you should expect during your recovery

-What kind of medication you will need after your surgery

-The kind of bandages or dressing your incision will need.

-How long the bandages/stitches will stay

-When the stitches will be taken out

-When you can return to doing physical activites.

-The time you will need to return to your consultation

-The recovery process of the brow lift

The recovery process can take up to 10-14 days. After that you may return to your daily life. But you should remember that any tiring or heavy activities as such as sports or pressure to your healing spot can leave unwanted damage. So it’s crucially necessary to listen to your doctor while this process. You can also cover up the bruising by using cosmetic products. We recommend using a pink color corrector first for deep end extential bruising. And it is important to keep in mind that if taken proper care, afterwards you will not see any visible scarring or permanent bruising.

What kind of results should I expect from my brow lift?

The results of a brow lift is seen immediately after recovery process. After the surgery the swelled spots will heal over time and you’ll see your fabulous results. And to make sure that you have temporary results, you can use a lightweight sunscreen with a desired level of sun protection factor. This will prevent sagging after a long time.
